  Goldcar finally agreed that the customer was right (I was right). So they decided to pay me back my "taken money" (~150-200 Eur), offering some apologies for the inconvinience of the situation.

  Terrible company. Didn't speak good English at the counter. Told us the would only put a deposit on the credit card. Realized later that they put two more charges on the credit card. They put a 22.18 euro charge for MiFi, a sort of internet service we didn't know about and never ask for and also a smart return we didn't ask for. (see picture of receipt) BIG WARNING TRYING TO SCAM YOU. THIEFS!!! Just pay a little more at a decent rental company.

  It even got better when arriving in Bilbao, strange enough the Goldcar office was not at the airport together with all other rental company's! I was driving around hopeless to find it and came to found out that it was of the first exit upon leaving the airport. OMG, I arrived at the desk to find no clerk there. I was seriously getting nervous since I did not want to miss the flight with my clients(6 persons) Finally the clerk showed up and we got on a shuttle to take you to the airport. I had filled the fuel in Bilbao city but the Goldcar Service team managed to get 1 unit (1 liter) in and fined me on the 'Penalty for Full Fuel charge' for driving around finding their office. What a total scam, since they managed to double the rental price from the original agreed price. These are very shady practices and I would recommend everybody to stay away from Goldcar rental as far as possible no matter the deal they'll try to give you for you will be scammed...

  Scam!!! Watch out!!! They give you a contract without telling you that they have given you an upgrade. We arrived on the 5th of September in Bilbao and it was really busy so we had to wait for a long time. We booked the car online at Holiday Cars and paid for everything so we wanted to be on our way as soos as possible. They reserved about 1400 euro with our creditcard and they said that amount will be deposit when we returned the car with no damage. Which is strange if we have also a full insurance package. When we got home from our holiday they did not deposit the whole amount. After contact with Holiday Cars they told us that we agreed with an upgrade, but we did not. We will never rent a car at Holiday Cars and Gold Car anymore. We rent twice a year a car on our holidays and never had this experience with fraud.

  Very shady business practice. I normally rent thru Hertz, but they didn't have a van available. I was offered a Mercedes Vito but received a Ford Transit with all kinds of damage on it. For this matter they are very intrusive on there insurance and the only way to stay out of discussion about damage that was already there is to take their Super Relax insurance. If not you will have a €2000 deductible! What a scam because this insurance will bring the rental price up 25% from the good price you got offered. The other scam is that I booked a one way rental to Bilbao and they give you a limited mileage and look at your destination. Mine was set at 1000km( this exact travel distance) and you pay €0,23 per km if you go over. So no room for a detour and also get pushed into taking out extra mileage. I was on a business trip and my clients were waiting so I opted for the extras and the rental price now had gone up 30%.

  HEREBY I complaint against this unprofessional shity company, due to their continous stealing money to their customers. Basically they charged me costs of 221 Eur (without my approval) for some milimeters (see photo) scratches which already where indentified-agreed and signed at the beginning of the contract (which is stated on paper).. and even so these losers have charged me for it... it is unbelievable. DO NOT book with this company, you will pay doubble in the end. They are professional ROBBERs. my contract 29 june 2017: 11754958

  I didn't want to believe it but these guys are really dishonest crooks and will find some sort of way to scam you. We returned the car in a clean condition (having received it with dirt marks on inside) only to be charged a €30 cleaning fee on top of all the other costs!! This dishonesty really does leave a bad taste in the customers mouth - I highly recommend to pay a bit extra and go with company with better customer service - not these deceiving manipulative snakes !!
